What is election?

“…from the beginning God has chosen you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth.”
— 2nd Thessalonians 2:13

Answer:

Election is God’s eternal plan, formed before the world began, to save sinners.

In election, the sovereignty of God goes together with the responsibility of people. Election includes evangelism; God chose to save people through hearing the Gospel. We cannot brag about being saved. God chose us; we didn’t choose Him.
